Potatoes With Black Pepper

 
Ingredients:
  • Potatoes 
  • Black pepper powder
  • One tomato

Method:

  • Boil required quantity of potatoes.
  • Chop boiled potatoes into medium size pieces.
  • In a kadhai (wok) or any vessel of your convenience take a little bit of pure  ghee (clarified butter); however if you are watching calories heat a teaspoon of any refined oil (groundnut or sunflower  oil).
  • Add the boiled potatoes, chopped tomatoes and salt to taste. Add lots of ground pepper and stir well. Put off flame.

The quantity of each ingredient used in the dish has not been mentioned, because it is a simple recipe. You may decide on the quantity in accordance with the number of people you plan to cook for.

  1. Thank you for this recipe - I made it for lunch today, and it turned out well! I'm familiar with something similar, which I make often: it's with boiled potato and coarsely crushed black pepper, but no tomato. I must agree that the addition of the tomato gives it more character. Am adding this to my list of easy recipes!

  4. One of my favourites tiffins in school. If i were to have it now just by itself (not with, say, porota), i would crumble some phhuckas into it for the crunch. What do you think?

  7. I like to have it for breakfast with some toast. I have never tried it but I think a sandwich with this filling should taste quite nice.
